Dreamt and Done

While looking through some various Photoshop files that I made sketches on to cool down from work, I remembered this little series of sketches I did a couple of days ago. Sometimes while listening to EPCOT park soundtracks I find myself thinking up small narratives for my characters, namely EKKAT and how she goes about in making EKKOT her home. I knew that I hadn't yet submitted anything with a sad or bleak tone, so I thought I'd share.

This narrative in particular is an origin story of sorts for EKKAT, in the style of a crudely animated flashback sequence. It sheds a little light on EKKAT's regard for Horizons as her first real home, where she lived life by its principle of dreaming and doing, before Horizons' eventual demolition. I was listening to one of the slower tracks in the Wonders of Life soundtrack and thought about these events which eventually led up to EKKAT's migration to Wonders (and later Spaceship Earth) as her new homes. I felt that the story could use a bit of drama because I wanted to convey a time where EKKAT was truly happy and satisfied until the changes that destroyed her home drove her to obsess over keeping EPCOT the same. Pretty deep for such a goofy little creeper, huh?

And that's just one example of what goes on in the mind of a Retro-EPCOT junkie when she's been listening to too many feels-inducing pavilion loops~
